Sharon Finnan White OAM

BIO

Sharon Finnan-White is a distinguished Indigenous Australian Netballer with roots tracing back to Dunghutti, Biripi, and Gumbaynggirr heritage on the mid-north coast of NSW. A celebrated athlete, she played a pivotal role in the Australian Netball Diamonds triumphs at the 1991 and 1999 World Cups and the 1990 Commonwealth Games. Her netball service earned her the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM), highlighting her significant contributions to the sport. As one of the select few Aboriginal women representing the Australian Diamonds, Sharon is committed to promoting cultural inclusivity in netball, particularly for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young women. With a career spanning over three decades across public, private, and community sectors, Sharon currently heads Finnan-White Consulting. She is also the Founder and CEO of the Sharon Finnan-White First Nations Academy of Excellence (FNAE).
