Matt Friedman is an international human trafficking expert with over 29 years of experience in managerial roles, program design, evaluation, and frontline response. Currently serving as the CEO of The Mekong Club, he leads a Hong Kong-based organization of private sector business leaders dedicated to combating human trafficking in Asia. Previously, as the Regional Project Manager at the United Nations Inter-Agency Project on Human Trafficking (UNIAP) in Thailand, he coordinated efforts linking the UN system with governments and civil society groups across Asia. Matt also worked with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), designing and managing human trafficking programs in Thailand, Bangladesh, and Nepal. An author of eleven books, Matt Friedman is a prominent figure in the fight against modern slavery.
