Chris Davies

BIO

Chris Davies is an Australian born former professional cricketer from Adelaide who is currently the General Manager of the Port Adelaide Football Club in the AFL. Chris was a highly promising batsman who played first grade when he was 14 before going on to represent South Australia. Chris has an incredibly inspiring story to share around the challenges he has overcome to reach the top level in sport. In the face of adversity, Chris had his efforts recognised at the 2003 The Advertiser-Channel 7 Sports Star of the Year Awards when he became the recipient of the Tanya Denver Award. Chris took the opportunity to send a message to kids with cystic fibrosis, something he suffers from - Winning the Tanya Denver Award is truly an honour. I hope that by me winning this award, young kids who also suffer from cystic fibrosis might just realise it still is possible to achieve your dreams – whether in sport or other facets of life.
