Budge Pountney is a former Scotland Rugby international and the current development director for Ulster Rugby. Throughout his 11-year career Budge represented Scotland on 31 occasions, winning the 1999 Five Nations, played in the 1999 World Cup and was also named captain. Budge represented Northampton Saints for his whole career, making 215 appearances and scoring 46 tries. In 2000, Budge and his teammates lifted the European Cup, defeating Munster at Twickenham. The following season the Northampton Saints made Budge captain. Since retiring from playing, Budge continued to work within the game, taking charge of the Northampton Saints for two seasons before becoming the Director of Rugby. Budge then worked as Head of Rugby at Marlborough College and moved to Regent House School in Newtownards in 2017. In 2021 he became Development Director for Ulster Rugby.
