BIO

Andrew Lewis is a Trinidad & Tobago Olympic Sailor passionate about the ocean and education. Despite facing challenges with reading and writing due to being diagnosed with ADD and dyslexia, Andrew persevered, focusing on his strengths in sports and the arts. His determination and motto, Hard Work Pays, have guided him throughout his life. His love for the ocean began at a young age when he started sailing at just seven years old. This passion led him to pursue his dream of becoming an Olympian, and on May 10, 2012, he made history as the first sailor from Trinidad and Tobago to qualify for the Laser class Olympics. Competing at the London 2012 Games, he showcased his skills among the best Laser sailors in the world. Following a near-death experience, Andrew made a remarkable comeback to compete at the Rio 2016 Olympics and the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in 2021, where he achieved his personal best. With numerous finals appearances and medals at World Cup events, Andrew continues to excel.

His foundation focuses on education, sport, and community building, making Andrew a role model for Trinidad and Tobago's youth. With aspirations to win an Olympic Gold medal for his country, Andrew Lewis is not only a focused and determined athlete but also a true humanitarian committed to helping others thrive.
